It is an hour-long documentary about sensory deprivation float tanks, and we think it’s a great introduction to the hows and whys of floating!
The filmmakers are newcomers to floating who are so enthusiastic about its effects, and nonplussed by the lack of public awareness of the practice, that they decide to travel around North America and meet with float tank owners, enthusiasts, researchers and newbies to explore all aspects of floatation therapy.
The result is this engaging, informative and inspiring documentary. It covers the history of sensory deprivation as a spiritual practice, the invention of the float tank, as well as the use of floating for chronic pain relief, mind expansion, relaxation and more. It also contains many interesting personal accounts of people’s floating experiences, from cancer patients to spiritual seekers to pregnant women connecting with their unborn babies.
