WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR
FIRST FLOATATION THERAPY EXPERIENCE
WHAT THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE LIKE:
Floating can be extremely rewarding depending on why you’ve chosen to float in the first place. For some it can feel completely foreign, and can take around 3-5 sessions to fully relax into this new, ultra-calm environment. For most, it’s instant bliss and serenity.
For anyone who is new to floating, it is highly recommended that you try out at least 5 sessions before deciding what benefits/effects floatation therapy is having on you. This is because each session will bring you a unique experience of floating, revealing new and exciting opportunities for exploration. No two floats are ever the same!
Once you’ve overcome any fears and concerns about the floating and experienced it for yourself, you’ll join the vast majority of people who float and be convinced of its immense value for your relaxation, contemplation and meditation as well as its many other benefits.
You’ll definitely want to come back and enjoy another session. The more times you float, the more likely you are to experience something different and with time, you can create a more profound outcome for yourself. To get the maximum time out of your first float, we suggest arriving 5 minutes early. This allows enough time for you to fill out an online form if you've not already completed one, and for your floatation therapist to have enough time to give you a tour of the float room, give you some personalised tips and answer any questions you may have.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
- Look out for the A-frame signs and tear shape banners out the front of the clinic.
- There are 10 convenient car parking spaces available at the front and back of the premises reserved just for you.
- Come straight through to reception where you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly staff members.
- If you haven’t already filled out an online form before your session, you'll then be given time to complete it at reception so we can make sure your needs and expectations are not just met, but surpassed.
YOUR FLOATATION SESSION:
- When you enter the room, you will notice the glow of our beautiful himalayan salt lamps. You can choose to leave this on or off during your float. You can learn more about the benefits of Salt Lamps here.
- You will be shown around the float room with a full explanation of the floatation tank features, and you will be given appropriate tips and hints to enhance your floatation therapy experience.
- From there, we will leave you to get undressed and have a shower. In the shower, we provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. These are always provided for your use. Roughly pat yourself dry, including your face and hair, prior to stepping into the floatation tank.
- A towel is provided for your initial session, however after this initial session you need to bring your own towel to use, otherwise a laundering fee applies. Hand towels and shower mats are always provided.
- Disposable earplugs are provided, and Mack’s silicone earplugs (re-usable) are available for purchase at reception. We recommend putting these in prior to getting into the shower. Earplugs are recommended but are optional. Check out the demo below of how to use Mack's earplugs.
- Now you are ready to get into the floatation tank! Once in, close the sliding hatch from the inside using both hands, and then lie on your back. You will effortlessly begin to float!
- Music will be played through the underwater sound system in the tank for a little while at the beginning of your session, then the float room will be completely silent during your float.
- Align yourself in the tank while you are floating by reaching your arms out by your sides. There are other tips to position your arms while your floating by clicking here.
- You will hear the music come back on at the end of the session to help gently bring you back to full conscious awareness. The float tank light will also turn on and gradually brighten. These are your cues to get out of the float tank.
- When you are ready to exit the floatation tank, take your time to stand up, allowing the excess water to drip back into the tank. Using the provided hand towel, wipe off excess water and salts and wring your hair before stepping out of the tank.
- Switch on the fan (and light if you wish) and go straight into the shower to wash off the salt. There is a 4 minute blue shower timer that will help you to be aware of time after your float (you have 5-10 minutes to shower, get dressed and be back at reception). Please be aware that we may have another client waiting and we need to allow sufficient time for filtering and cleaning the floatation tank.
- Remember shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dermeze cream to help seal any cuts, ear solution to dry up any moisture in your ears are always provided for your use.
- Once you’re ready, please go to reception and have a seat where you will be given a glass of Zazen alkaline mineral water to help cleanse your body.
- Once you feel ‘within your body’ come to the desk and settle your payment if you have not already done so and arrange another time for your next floatation experience.
- Your floatation therapist will have a brief chat with you about how your experience went, and can answer any questions or concerns about your experience. They may also give you suggestions to try for your next float.
Once you have had your first float, don’t forget to enquire about our Frequent Floaters Program which give you the BEST VALUE! Speak with your floatation therapist to find out what will best suit your needs and goals.
