On the 8th of August, the 3rd Annual Float Conference was held in Portland, Oregon. This conference is home to the hundreds of Floatation Tank owners and businesses around the world that have a real passion for floating.
Each year there are guest speakers, workshops and seminars that attendees can participate in and learn from. Inner Outer Health hopes to visit the Float Conference next year, to see first hand all of the possibilities that floating has. So stay tuned!
The weekend revolves around learning and discussing ways to promote Floatation Therapy, the ways it can benefit people and what it could lead to in the future. It is jam packed with full days of activities and presentations to help further the float industry. You can view the whole schedule here.

The conference is also a platform for researchers, scientists and business owners to present findings on issues effecting Floatation Therapy and benefits to clients.

Glenn Perry, mentored by Dr John C. Lilly (the creator of Float Tanks) who developed the first commercial Float Tank, the Samadhi Tank.
Lee Perry, as president of the Samadhi Tank Company, has spent the last 38 years working to keep the business of floating a journey into the realm of service and adventure. As chairman of the board of the Floatation Tank Association, she focuses on advocating best practices, educating health departments on regulations for this industry, and supporting new float businesses.

Stephen Johnson is a boxer, dancer, poet, bodyworker, anatomist, psychiatric nurse, somato-spiritual explorer, and float master.
He’s been working in the bleeding edge of bodywork and exploration his entire life. He talks about his experience working in these different fields throughout his life, and the potential float tanks have to make an impact.

Graham Talley and Ashkahn Jahromi are two of the founders of Float On, and the organizers of this very Float Conference! They’ve been on a wild ride with the float industry for many years now, and are always working on some sort of crazy float project.
Hear them talk about their first exploits into the world of floating, and the creation of their float center, Float On.
Jeffrey Bruno is a clinic psychologist based in San Francisco, and also one the early researchers of float tanks and REST. Jeffrey has worked with Tom Fine and John Turner in the formation of the Center for Self-Regulation, a non-profit float research center that was formed in the 80′s.
Jeffrey talks about his history with float research, as well as his newest plans of rejoining the float community and trying to start up his float research again.
You are not going to believe this but today at 12pm Ashkan Jahromi (owner of FloatOn in USA) and Fredrik P Fostvedt two of the pioneers in the float industry decided to pop into Inner Outer Health for a surprise visit.
Float On is Americas largest float tank centre, located in Portland, Oregon. Boasting 6 floatation tanks, rooms and pools. They are also the same people who run the annual float conference in Portland each year!
After the excitement of their arrival, they were given a tour of our centre and our float rooms. From there, it was all about floating! Swapping stories of different experiences taking photos and having a laugh.
